grief card 13
--- art and prompt by Caito Stewart, Falling Apart
there was a breach: a hernia,
the peritoneum sac a
-gape, hole in the two months old bag
of inconsolable and hag
-gard flesh, what was left when fight, flight,
and freeze failed to ease the pain, light
-ening me a fragment. I learned
to cauterize the crave and yearn
-ings, that ash quenches thirst and flame.
being emptied and overcome came
the pent open, the want of want,
one-and-only-begotten one.
